The IndeeFactor Rating System
The IndeeFactor Rating System has been formulated to cover all aspects of sustainability transparency in order to assist you in making informed choices.
Fashion brands and their supply chain stakeholders have a responsibility to provide information and awareness of their practices.
IndeeFactor have primarily based the rating system on the UN Sustainable Development Goals as well as Fashion Revolution Transparency Index 2021 and the Nordic Fashion Association NICE Code of Conduct for the Fashion and Textile Industry.
Disclosure: IndeeFactor commits to regular updates of its rating system. We understand the transition to sustainable and circular fashion is a process which requires commitment, time and resources. Therefore our goal is for best case practices in the delivery of the IndeeFactor Rating System.
How it Works
The IndeeFactor Rating System provides transparency information based on codes of conduct within sustainability expectations as well as the 2030 UN Sustainability Development Goals (SDG’s) over five key areas. Each icon represents the following five key areas with a total of 25 data points; the key areas are indicated through the specific SDG’s below.

Each fashion label will be graded against the ‘icon of impact’ (People, Planet, Animals, Circularity and Economy). Each icon represents a scale of 5 data points.

If the brand failed to provide sufficient transparency, therefore failing that particular category the above icon ‘Not Transparent’ will replace any of the 5 icons of impact.
